E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plant
The Edmonton E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plant was built in 1976. It was recently upgraded to increase the reliability and capacity of Edmonton's long-term water supply.
- The E.L. Smith WTP upgrade project has received several environmental and engineering awards
- E.L. Smith WTP can produce up to 400 ML/day of treated drinking water.
- The water treatment process includes coagulation, flocculation, filtration and uses free chlorine, chloramine, and UV light for disinfection.
