Wood Buffalo
In November 2009, EPCOR established a home base to support its growth in the oil sands opening a new Fort McMurray office.
Since 2003, EPCOR has been operating a growing number of water and wastewater treatment plants in the region, which have provided essential services to camps and sites operating in the area. The new office will provide a central location to meet with clients and prospective clients in the fast-paced Region of Wood Buffalo.
EPCOR's Operations in Wood Buffalo
Suncor’s Steepbank Mine
Located 30 km North of Fort McMurray, EPCOR supplies potable water and wastewater treatment for 1,000 workers for the site operations and administration.
Suncor’s Millenium & Borealis Mines
EPCOR treats wastewater for the Borealis and Millenium camps (population 1, 500 and 2,100 respectively) located 30 km N of Fort McMurray.
Suncor’s Firebag SAGD
EPCOR supplies potable water and wastewater treatment for 1,500 workers at the camp and site operations and administration. The site is located 160 km NE of Fort McMurray.
Suncor Voyageur
This is the first Design Build Own Operate project for EPCOR in the oil sands region. Beginning in spring 2009, EPCOR will have the capability to supply water and wastewater service to 3,500 workers and staff at the campsite and administration buildings located 30 km N of Fort McMurray.
Albian Sands’ Jackpine Mine
Supply potable water and wastewater treatment for a camp of 2,500 workers 90 km N of Fort McMurray.
Albian Sands’ Muskeg River Mine
EPCOR supplies potable water and wastewater treatment for a camp of 1,000 workers at this site 75 km N of Fort McMurray.
