Water Facts
Strathmore currently receives its drinking water from Calgary via a transmission main line installed in 2010.
Wastewater Facts
- EPCOR built a state-of-the-art tertiary level plant for the Town of Strathmore in 2010 and it will be commissioned in 2011. It uses Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR).
- A portion of the treated wastewater effluent is diverted to spray irrigation of farm land.
- The wastewater collection system consists of five wastewater lift stations.
- The storm water system includes two lift stations and eight outfalls that discharge to a series of 12 storm water retention ponds. The storm water then flows via a watercourse to Eagle Lake, located approximately 4 km southeast of Strathmore.
