About the report
EPCOR’s 2010 Corporate Accountability Report demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility in line with our mission “to make life better in our communities by providing clean water and safe, reliable electricity.” It combines EPCOR’s annual report and corporate responsibility report in one document.
In addition to extensive data and other material documenting everything from our carbon footprint to our record on human rights and product responsibility, you’ll find feature stories that graphically illustrate our accomplishments, our challenges and our commitments.
The report follows guidelines defined in the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an internationally recognized standard for corporate responsibility reporting, The GRI guidelines set out the principles and indicators that organizations can use to measure and report their environmental, economic and social performance. We are proud to have achieved an A+ rating for reporting performance under the GRI standard for the third year in a row.
We believe that setting forth publicly what we intend to accomplish and how we intend to minimize our impact on the environment makes good business sense. Holding ourselves accountable and reporting on our progress is one way we demonstrate that we mean what we say about caring for our customers, our Shareholder, the communities we serve, our people and the environment.
