Ongoing Monitoring of Air Quality 

One effective weapon in battling nuisance odours is Gold Bar's ambient air monitoring program. Using sophisticated detection equipment, air quality around the plant and in local neighborhoods is monitored. This equipment can detect hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell) in a parts per billion range - far exceeding a person's normal sense of smell. Two air monitoring stations are conveniently located close to the plant, providing staff with real-time data on air quality. Continual air monitoring alerts plant staff to problem areas, helping them to counteract possible nuisance odours.
