Wood Buffalo/Borealis License Renewal 

On November 17, 2009, EPCOR acquired ownership of the Borealis Treatment facilities and is now responsible for site operations. This includes holding the Alberta Environment Approval #72755-00-00, which was transferred from Compass Group Canada Ltd. who operated the facility for Suncor Energy Inc. prior to EPCOR’s involvement at the site.

Currently, EPCOR is applying for renewal of this approval for the Borealis Wastewater Treatment Plant. The wastewater treatment plant is undergoing several upgrades, which are detailed in the Renewal Application. The following is a copy of the application submitted to Alberta Environment on January 31, 2010.
